I greatly enjoyed Dr. Ian's course. The grade consisted of three essays: the first worth 20% and the other two worth 40%. Overall, it seemed like the people who didn't like him did poorly, and the people who did like him did well. The papers were graded blindly, so there was no bias, but the level of analysis expected was beyond what some people in the class were capable of. The course is a little difficult, but if you are a good writer and have some background in philosophy it is worthwhile.
