This class was brand new when I took it, so it's a little hard to give an accurate review since we were the guinea pigs. It is definitely a challenging course. For our final, we had over 4 hours of music to know for listening identifications, as well as terms and around 30 writings from authors that we had to be able to identify. While a lot of work, Professor Szabo is a fair grader and a nice guy. If you are interested in this time period and many diverse (and some of them hard to handle) styles of music, take this class. If not, maybe take one less focused on such a complicated period for music. Overall, this class was pretty good, so I'd recommend with some reservations. Just make sure you know what you're getting into!
