I'm writing this review offset a substantial time from when I took the course (almost two years), so this review will be a bit shorter than I'd like.
This is a really awesome course; my sole regret is that I had only taken Survey of Algebra before this course. Taking Intro Algebra before this would have served me well. There were weekly (somewhat short) homework assignments, the textbook is quite readable, and two exams. Most of this is classical number theory, with some more algebraic notions towards the end of the course. Don't take this if you're expecting analytic number theory. ;-)
As we started to transition into harder material, Professor Parshall had us (occasionally) each present a single homework problem on the board. This allowed him to provide real-time feedback--while it might seem a bit scary, I thought it was a very helpful step. Homework was expected to be in LaTeX. I 100% recommend this class for anyone remotely interested in number theory and algebra.
