Mavi is not a good teacher. i could hardly follow any of his lectures, and they were so boring that it was hard to pay attention. I got lost at the beginning of the semester, and that made it really hard to catch up because a lot of the material grows on itself. If you have to take this class, take the time to ask questions and understand the material.
The homework always seemed pointless and tedious to me, the quizzes got easier as the semester progressed, and the tests were fairly manageable.
After I took the final, I thought i had failed the class (no grades back since October), but I ended up with an A- (with help from a decent curve). So don't lose hope if you're struggling.
The class requires a lot of work, but if you're willing to put in a decent amount of effort then you should do alright.
Rajinder doesn't seem to care at all about teaching this course, or any class. He sits up front and rambles on about theoretical stuff that he doesn't even test you on. The first test was an 18 long answer test that he expected us to finish in 50 minutes. The final was also unnecessarily hard and could have required about 4 hours to complete successfully. But, all the tests are curved because everyone did so poorly on them, so everyone ended doing well in the class. Also, I'm pretty sure he never graded the last half of the homeworks or weekly quizzes, since he stopped giving them back to us the second week of classes.
