MATH 1160

Professor Beamer means well but he makes the class a lot more complicated than it has to be. This class is dedicated to students who are wishing to go into the teaching field; specifically, it is oriented towards potential elementary school teachers. The classes are extremely boring but required because not attending entails a 2% deduction on your grade. Moreover, he gives a lot of homework that comes off as busywork as it is never graded for correctness but rather completion. The exams are really easy but he is super picky about things like diagrams, pictures, and explanations. Overall, it is a GPA-padding class but it is super boring; be sure to get work for other classes done while you're in this one. As much as I love Zack, I think that this class and its material is too dry. As a prospective teacher, I do not think I learned anything meaningful for real-world applications. All the subject matter is stuff that a good algebra student should intuitively know.
