HIUS 3612

Professor Field is absolutely amazing. She wants her students to succeed, and is very upfront about her expectations when it comes to papers and what she wants to see. She can talk a little fast in lecture, but she is more than willing to slow down for anyone who asks and go more in depth. She always leaves five minutes at the end of class for questions, and wants to make things as clear as possible.

For this class, since it is a second writing requirement, there were 6 short arguments that you write analyzing the readings, and 4 were due before spring break (within 6 weeks of class really starting). It was a lot, but also leaves you a lot of time for the last 2 short papers. There were two long papers, one before and one after spring break - not that hard to find something to write about, just something that interested you in the readings. There was no midterm, and a take home final.
