This course is one of the easiest science courses at UVA. I took it for my gen ed requirements, and the straight-forward breakdown of 4 tests (no final and the lowest test grade is dropped!) made it easy to focus on my other courses, which had more frequent assignments. The topics are familiar—basic knowledge of storms and weather patterns—and not too complicated. As long as you go to lecture, you will pass the class. The textbook is not required, since the tests only cover material from lectures. Professor Grise also gives extra credit (3 points to your final grade) if you answer a few practice problems on Learning Catalytics each class. Overall, a nice way to fulfill a gen ed with a great professor.
