Nystrom is a good professor to have in a workshop. She gives helpful feedback, and she has a chill, zen vibe. That being said, sometimes the class can be a bit disorganized. It's tough for me to write a review of her workshop, because poetry workshops are always influenced by the people in the workshop as well as the instructor leading the workshop. So you never really know how a workshop is going to be until after a few weeks in the class. People's beliefs and prejudices will show in a poetry workshop setting (this has been my experience in several different writing workshops). That being said, I recommend Debra's workshop to poets at the intermediate level that are aspiring to develop their craft. If you're serious about poetry and you go to her office hours, you will benefit from this workshop.
