Professor Stone works with Sherriff and basically everything is the same, so if you check out the reviews for him you'll have a good feel for the class. Stone is a great guy and is passionate about the stuff he's teaching for this class, even though it is primarily Sherriff's course. At the end of the day you'll have a similar experience with either professor. It's a great class though and I'd recommend it even if you're BACS!
Great course! I fully agree with what the other reviewer said about the Stone and Sherriff dynamic. This course re-affirmed my love for Stone as a professor and person.
I very much enjoyed the emphasis on the non-technical aspects of SWE: creating an effective team culture and being a good team member. My team was great, not because we were good at coding, but because we were communicative, honest, and punctual.
Would recommend, especially for those who don't have much experience in web development (like me).
Stone is such a sweet man. He's incredibly kind, he's sarcastically funny, and he'll make your heart melt. His lectures are decent, and you'll learn the required material about software engineering. He'll go on tangents a lot, which are usually really interesting. I feel bad because nobody really shows up to his class, at least not this semester. I definitely recommend taking this class with Stone if you're looking for a down-to-earth professor who you'll learn from and who will also make you laugh.
