CHEM 1420

If you have to take chem, you might as well take it with Gerrans because he's helpful outside of class, fair, and sometimes he even tells funny stories during lectures.

Gerrans is really great because he's so organized. Just study his notes and you should get a good grade.

Gerrans is a really nice guy, and has great lecture notes. He also lectures at a reasonable pace and is very clear about what sections will/won't be on tests. Tests are doable.

i kind of thought 142 would be easier than 141. it definitely isn't. but if you work really really hard, it'll eventually pay off.

Not always the most exciting class but he is a good straight forward lecturer.

A good choice for 142

Boring Chemistry - Gerrans is a good guy but not very exciting. You have to take it, so haha.

Someone please tell him how to properly use the word 'naught'

Better than Metcalf but still intro CHEM, no fun but not that bad if you put in a little effort and go to class. Take fast notes. Gerrans is a good lecturer

It was nice that Professor Gerrans had his prepared notes for each class. However, he just presented the information and didn't fuel my interest in chemistry b/c he didn't explain the underlying concepts; more math and definition oriented. He expected us to go to the textbook and basically teach ourselves a bit. But, his office hours are convenient and builds upon the lecture. I didn't think that the TAs helped much and the tests are tricky, so study hard! Better than Metcalf is what I have heard.

Gerrans is the best to have for Chem 141
