I'm a BME and I took this class for my engineering elective req. I would HIGHLY recommend taking this class. Professor Smith provided the class with the outline of the course notes for the entire semester. As long as you attend class and pay attention enough to fill in the blanks in the notes you will get an A. There was weekly homework (most weeks), which include a couple of math problems and reading assignments and were extremely easy to do (20% of grade). There are daily in class quizzes which are open notes/open book and are also extremely easy (30% of grade), these mostly serve for attendance purposes and to make sure you are actually just following along in class because all of the answers come directly from the notes. The midterm you get one sheet of printer paper and the final you get two. Overall, as long as you attend class it is very easy. The lectures can get a little boring sometimes because you are mostly just following along with him as he goes through the course notes but the material he covers is actually pretty interesting (particularly the case studies).
Daily quizzes, weekly homeworks, one midterm and a final. You can bring in a cheat sheet so as long as your sheet is really extensive (aka has everything), its pretty straightforward. Personally, I thought this class doesnt know what it wants to be about. One moment youre learning about water shortages in refugee camps, the next youre learning about hydrogen bonding. I found this class to be really boring since youre just writing down what the prof says and putting in your lecture notes like a madlib. You learn about some very important issues though
