Christ is a really cool guy, probably the coolest I had 4th semester. He's really nice and down to Earth, and really wants to make sure every student is learning the material the most effective way. I went to his office hours maybe twice and each time he asked me about my thoughts on the previous lecture and how it could be make better and more clear.
As for the class, there is a lot of dry material. The class consists of powerpoints that he goes through pretty rapidly (it's almost as if he expects you to know the material, even though there is no textbook in the class and it's almost all new material). He gives you a 5 minute break in the middle of the class which is super nice, and he usually finishes 5-10 minutes early. I found the best way to take notes and study for tests (which are pretty difficult, a lot of rote memorization) was to take notes in class in the notes section of the powerpoint that he provides and then to make notecards based on the slides and the notes you take in class.
If you're premed, you can impress doctors with the information you learn in this class (yes, it is that detailed and useful).
This was Christ's first semester teaching this course, so initially he really had no idea what he was doing. Over the course of the semester, his lectures got a lot better, but most of the course content is not particularly clear. He's super approachable and incredibly smart, but sometimes he doesn't explain things in the depth that students need because he knows the material so well. As a result, students have to put in a lot of time on their own (if they are motivated to do so) because it's very difficult to get anything from the lectures. Because this was his first time teaching this course, it was pretty unstructured and there was little homework. The tests were somewhat difficult, although if you study the slides it's very manageable, the only issue is understanding how specifically he expects students to understand concepts. Overall, a very interesting and practical course, just not the best structure.
