This class is a requirement for the nursing school, otherwise I wouldn't be taking it. Professor Homyk is a very nice man, and he wants to help you learn, but I just can't learn from him to save my life. I find his exams to have very obscure information on it, and not cover the big concepts of the material.
This class is awful. Homyk tries really hard and I think he genuinely cares about his students, but he should NOT be a lecturer. Admittedly, the material is very interesting, but be warned...lecture is painful. By the way, he takes attendance, but it's only for extra credit (but it's worth it...just go to class)
If you listen and take good lecture notes, this class is extremely easy. For bio majors, it is mostly just a review of what you have already learned. Tests are very straightforward and based on his lectures only. Homyk is always willing to meet with students outside of class too for those who are struggling. You learn a lot about anatomy, which is very applicable to those who want to continue a career in health fields.
