Although ASL itself is a very fun course, and Greg is a very enthusiastic professor, the class itself is not very enjoyable. You will almost never get assignments back, making it hard to gauge your grade until the end of the semester. Tests are highly variable. If you have a headache or are slightly tired, you can lose anywhere from 2-15 points, even if you know all the information well and spent hours studying. Small semantic errors on tests will be counted, and the grading seems very subjective, changing from test to test. I am glad I took the course because I find ASL to be a facinating language, but I wish the course itself was a bit more transparent, and effort translated into higher marks, like with other courses.
