This is exactly the class I needed as an intro to Architecture School. It is heavy on art and really pushes creativity. You are taught how to sketch, draw, and model. Sanda is so sweet and always entertaining. I had a great time in this class as it prepared me for future studios. Even if you are not in the A school, I greatly recommend this class, although it will be a decent amount of work.
I loved this class! Sanda is an amazing professor and the TA’s are all super nice. This class really helped me develop my art skills and solidify my choice in becoming an architecture major. The course starts by developing art skills and finding relationships between objects before slowly moving into architectural projects for the last few assignments that utilize the skills being developed over the course of the semester. #tCFS24
Sanda is a great professor and is very passionate about what she teaches. While this class is very time comsuming and not your typical lecture/exam style course, ARCH 1020 gives you great insight into the design world and lays your foundation for future studio classes in the a-school. Make sure you create a good connection with your TA because they are the ones who are grading everything and going you feedback. The sections are small (roughly 10 kids) so you have a great opportunity to build a connection. Get your projects done early and listen to input from Sanda and your TA for each project even if you don't necessarily agree with their input. Overall, this is one of my favorite classes this semester!
