It would be easy if you already know MATLAB.

Easy if you know a bit of coding, but this course teaches Matlab anyway. It helps if you sit through the lecture but the slides cover almost everything. Minimal reading required. The exams are coding+writing. Not so difficult because what you can do with numerical methods is limited with pen and paper.
