STAT 3120

I was scared to take this course because Mathematical Statistics sounds awful but I had the pleasure of taking the course with Evan Bagley. The course honestly was not very difficult, and it was very possible to get an A on both midterms and all the homework. I believe the course was relatively easy because Evan loves the material and he is a great professor. Aside from his often laughable handwriting, he does a great job explaining topics and simplifying them. Honestly, if I could take this course again to take care of more requirements, then I would. However, my review is mainly about Evan, not the course. Evan made the course so enjoyable; he is very likable and just seems like a great person. So, to review: 1. Only take this course with Evan if you want a good grade and don't want to be miserable, 2. If you cannot take this course with Evan, find a way to befriend him.

Professor Bagley is an amazing professor! He took this class himself so he knows the struggle. He is knowledgeable and kind. There are 3 exams (2 midterms and a final that isnt really cummulative) and 50% of the grade is homeworks (which are not hard). I too was scared thinking this would be probability all over again but it wasn't. Would highly recommend taking this class with him!

Take this class with Bagley! He's amazing and took this class when he was in undergrad at UVA so he kind of understands the struggle. I was really nervous about taking this class during the summer because it would be so fast paced, but Evan is fantastic at making concepts easy to understand. He's also super approachable and genuinely seems to care about students. The homeworks were reasonable and the exams were fair. I honestly kind of hate math and stat, but this was one of the better classes I've ever taken, and Evan is definitely one of the best profs I've ever had.
