I took this class for Fall 2024 but it would not allow me to select that.
This class was extremely interesting and informative. The workload is not heavy at all and the professor is incredible. She truly knows what she is teaching and how to interest her students. Additionally, the TA's were great and helpful. You have to do a little reading but honestly it is not the end of the world if you don't. You also have to write three essays but it is ugly easy and takes some load off of the exams. Attendance is not required and PowerPoints are posted every class. Overall, enjoyed this class a ton and recommend the professor and the course itself.
The professor is caring and obviously knowledgeable on the subject, but the lectures are very boring and unnecessary. She posts the slides, but I found that the exams relied heavily on the textbook. The slides only vaguely touch on the material, so you should prioritize the readings anyway. I eventually stopped attending lectures and would only skim the slides after reading the textbook, but I ended up with an A. The class is composed of 3 exams (60%), 3 essays (15%), and lecture quizzes (25%). The essays are very easy, and she drops a few of your lowest quiz grades, but the exams cover a lot of material. Ultimately, if you start studying a week or more before the exam, you'll be fine.
I took this class Fall of 2024, and I enjoyed it! The topics were really interesting, and definitely a good extension of things taught in AP Psychology. Professor Robertson is a great instructor, and encourages feedback that she takes into account to improve the course. There is typically a lot of textbook reading as homework, but I would not let that scare you from the class, especially since she goes over it in lecture.
