Like it's said above: not an easy class. However, I would argue that the professor is one of the most passionate and compassionate professors in SEAS. He genuinely wants his students to learn, and office hours are extremely helpful. There's a lot of extra credit on the homework, which isn't just busy work; a lot of the questions are there to expand your knowledge, and the tests are the same or easier than the basic homework questions. Definitely worth taking for the minor.
This is not an easy class. By the end of the semester, more than half of the class had dropped out. You will spend at least 10 hours on the homework every week. You will hunt through a 70-80 slide PowerPoint just for one equation. Personally, I stuck with the class because I enjoyed the course material and because it's needed for the MSE minor. The professor is a nice guy, but it can be very hard to approach him because his office hours are at really obscure times of the day. However, I got through this class because I had an awesome study partner and the TA was awesome at explaining things.
