I'm surprised that Professore Puiatti has no reviews yet, so I'll start. He is an amazing professor. I had taken Spanish in high school and I figured it would be cool to try out Italian in college, although I was somewhat concerned that I would get Spanish grammar and vocab mixed up with Italian, as they are very similar. With Prof. Puiatti, as long as you put in a true effort to speak Italian in class, he will help you and reward you. He's a very funny/personable guy as well, and he made going to class every day (since 1010 does meet Monday through Friday) less of a chore and more of a fun experience. While going to class every day can seem redundant on some days, he does his best to reinforce the material. I also was fortunate enough to be in a class with a total of 6 people, which was awesome and it helped all of us learn so much better. I believe language classes are generally between 15-20. I never felt like I had to study very much for tests and I always ended up with very good grades (not because the tests were easy but because we had used and studied the material in class so much). The Connect homework can sometimes be difficult, especially in the cultural sections, but it's a great study tool, so take advantage of it. It's very easy to end up with an A- in this class as long as you put in the work and give effort everyday in class. A 96 is the benchmark for an A in this class, but as I said earlier, Prof. Puiatti definitely rewards an above average effort. Overall, I would absolutely recommend Prof. Puiatti! Take him if you take Italian and you won't regret it.
