This was the best class I have taken at UVA. I learned so much about crosswords and the history of crossword. I might even be SLIGHTLY better at them now. 10/10 take this professor if you can, he is the best

While the subject matter of this course was at times puzzling, Professor Connor's passion for the cruciverbalism shines through every lecture! Definitely a must-take class at the University of Virginia Main Campus.

Professor Connor is perhaps the most committed professor I’ve had at UVA. He matches his tie to his lecture and organized a semester-long Crossword Cup competition to ensure student engagement. He also has nice hair. I now know how to pronounce cruciverbalist, strongly recommend!

the professor was very knowledgable and well-dressed for almost every lecture, and demonstrated that he cared about his students by writing me a letter of recommendation. my only very small complaint was that he talked about crosswords a lot. like every class.

This is easily top 5 classes I've taken at UVA. I'm a lifelong crossword solver/enthusiast, but through this course I really came to appreciate the complexity behind the creation of an enjoyable puzzle. The professor was extremely kind and always available give feedback and brainstorm ideas.

Professor was amazing, and had really cute clothing. The class was very well thought out and structured, and at the end we got crossword books so that we can keep developing our skills. The documentary was really beautiful.

I love Professor Connor! We got to learn the history of crosswords, how they've merged with technology over time, and some notable figures in crossword history. Would absolutely recommend this class! Yay crosswords!

They're saying there may never be another course like this one. For experienced crossworders and newcomers alike, this class is for everyone. We made crosswords and they were so unbelievably fun and interesting!
