EVSC 5559

This class essentially teaches you how to communicate environmental science to the general public. As an accomplished journalist, Chris is very knowledgeable on this topic. Typical classes are just sitting and listening to lectures and some discussion about the assigned readings. Attendance and participation are somewhat important. We had a few small assignments, a presentation on a topic of our choice, a video on our topic, a group narrative presentation, and a final paper. The work isn't hard, but Chris doesn't make his expectations clear... like, at all. Only after you do the assignments will he give you extensive feedback and explain what he really was looking for. Overall, I didn't learn much or have to put in extensive effort to get the A. I don't know if I would recommend this course because it's new, relatively unstructured, and a pain.
