Prof. Howard is a very nice person and very knowledgeable. For this class, you will have 2 exams, a paper and several homework assignments. The homework assignments are tedious but doable (just do them and you get credit). He provides study guides for the exams and stick to them; he gives you everything you need to know, so no surprises. The paper is very vague on the topic but make sure to ask him his opinion on your topic to make sure your on the right track. Yes the lectures and pretty boring but you should go and take notes or at least show up and do some homework while also taking notes.

Monotone. Think of the most boring voice you've ever heard and imagine listening to it talk 3 times a week about geomorphology. Sudoku saved me. Tests are all free response so you have to know your stuff. Not impossible but don't think you can wing it. Not too harsh of a grader either.

Professor Howard is a really nice guy but his voice is kind of dull. He really knows his stuff and is very willing to help you outside of class.
