DRAM 3040

this is a fantastic class! I'm not a drama major and I highly recommend it! the professor is such a funny, enjoyable, passionate person about his craft and it is clear he loves musical history. there are just 2 exams-midterm and final which are not difficult, and a short paper on any subject. take this class for humanities requirement or just for some extra credits. it's not a lot of work, but you'll get a lot out of it. and it will make you love musical theater!

Kind of boring lectures - you watch a lot of movie clips and stuff... Not hard at all.

Class was definitely more difficult than I expected. You needed to know a lot of specific information for the tests and there were only two so don't mess up any of them

This has been my favorite class thus far at UVa. Professor Chapel is very knowledgeable about the subject and does a phenomenal job teaching the material. Although he may talk a bit fast at times, one has plenty of time to catch up while watching clips. He incorporates clips of musicals nearly every 5 minutes and they are all highly appropriate and entertaining. I often found myself listening to show tunes in my spare time and rethinking my career plans, because of this class. The grading is just one midterm, one paper and one final and if you pay attention and take good notes you should do fine. I would highly advise anyone to take this class!
