APMA 3501

This class was stupid. It's required so there's nothing really to do about it but I swear I did more work for this 1 credit class than any of my major required courses. There is a discussion post each week that almost always require reading some unnecessarily long article along with two projects during the semester. The first project is also an unnecessary amount of work - maybe it was just harder for my group because there isn't as much research on our class but you present on how students learn some topic in the class you TA for and suggest ways to better teach that topic as TAs. The second project is a review of your TAing - you record some interactions with students, transcribe it, analyze it, and then reflect on how you achieved the goals you set for yourself. All class time is spent discussing various teaching methods. I just don't really think it was that helpful overall - actually TAing and learning from experience is 10x more helpful.
