This class doesn't have the typical college class structure and the first few assignments are very time-consuming, but not difficult. Once you get past the first two months the workload lightens up. Gweneth can be surprisingly understanding so don't get too intimidated by her (or other reviewers). There is a point to the class, so as long as you try a little, it'll be worth it!

This is the worst class I have ever taken at UVA. It seems that the professor's understanding of 'creativity' is following her instructions to the letter. I found the atmosphere to be detrimental to creating anything I truly believed in or cared about. The class felt like a semester-long game of Simon Says. In addition, I felt that the professor was extremely rude to her students and cultivated a classroom of fear. (She once berated a student for leaving class one day because she was so sick she had to vomit.) The level of work we had to do was truly absurd.

I do not recommend this course to anyone.

Greatest class ever. A little intimidating at first. It really forces you out of your comfort zone. Gweneth expects the extraordinary.

This class is what you make of it. Majors and Minors have to take it. Teaches you a lot about expression and yourself. Definitely a whirlwind class.

If you accept that her opinion is the only opinion, this course can be quite informative. Much like trying to escape a rip tide, you have to tuck in and take what it gives you, but in the end, the results can be awesome.

Strange class, at times a ton of useless work other times fun easy things like finger painting. Not a totally easy class but unlike any other college course.

This class is required for all drama majors and minors, so you can't really avoid it. It's hard because the professor refuses to give you any sort of indication of how you are doing in the class grade-wise. The class is really abstract, to be prepared for some crazy shit.

There's a lot of work in the beginning, but it gets easier and more group oriented as the year goes on.

This class is required for Drama majors, but not one that I enjoyed. There is a lot of abstract visual art work like pencil sketchings and paintings and a group made abstract sculpture. I'm still waiting to see how this class is going to help me with what I want to do after I graduate college. I don't even see how it is necessary for the major.

Although the class and professor have a bad rep, it is effective as an introduction to the dramatic way of thinking. Gweneth is a little quirky and eccentric, but she is very passionate at what she does and wants to see her students learn.
