Discrete Math is a hit or miss. It's not hard at all, but can be tedious. Some students really like the course, but many absolutely hate it. Bottom line is the concepts aren't difficult when the work is put in for the class and if you go to TA's every week, you'll get an average of like 100 on all your homework. Lectures are a bore though and arguably unnecessary for passing the class. Study the homework problems and you'll ace the midterms.
Professor Soroush is an excellent lecturer, but some people may find him boring. He is very clear in what he says during class, and answers questions very well. The grading is very lenient, so if you try hard enough, you'll probably get an A. Office hours are very helpful, and the textbook is actually available online, so ask around! The class isn't very "fun", per se, but it is a requirement so take it with soroush if he ever teaches it again.
Not a great class, but not bad either. Soroush was pretty average - lectued clear and well from slides. It wasn't too interesting, but granted, he got the material covered. The tests took some effort and I highly recommend students to go over the old tests, since questions are sometimes repeated. Wouldn't have taken the class if it wasn't required though - haven't had to use any of the information yet.
Professor Soroush was an excellent teacher. He was very kind and sweet, and helped his students and seemed very excited to be teaching the class. Lectures could be bland, but I feel that's the nature of this course rather than him. Weekly problem sets were partner-based, and were challenging but doable. The tests were fair, and his practice exams were very similar so it was easy to do reasonably well. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to be teaching the course as of late, but if he does I definitely recommend taking it with him over another of the 2102 professors.
