Really good class to learn about CS (useful even if you're not an engineer or computer science major). The stuff can get tough at times, but the TA hours are extremely helpful and if you do all the work you're pretty much guaranteed to get an A.

Sherriff is an entertaining lecturer who clearly cares about teaching the material to students. Grading is fair, pay attention in class and don't wait until the last minute to begin working on homework and you will do well.

Sherriff is an all-around fun guy, who enjoys what he does. He makes the class fun and really makes the material understandable. If he can't explain it, he has an army of TA's willing to help as well

Homeworks start out fairly simple and do-able. Partner homeworks are long and complicated and require office hour assistance from TAs. Labs are easy, attendance is required but you can usually work on homework during them. Tests are fair, usually asking for simple code.

Professor Sherriff is very passionate about computer science and it shows through his teaching. He genuinely wants to inspire others about CS and make the experience worth while. He doesn't hesitate to help you if you're struggling and tries to explain things in the easiest way possible. Good class to take for non-CS majors interested in the subject.

Sherriff is awesome. He is constantly cracking jokes, so lectures are always entertaining. Some homework assignments are harder than others, but go to the TAs' office hours. The ones who have helped me are amazing and will even help you write parts of the code. My friends have had varied success with other TAs, though, so just keep going to different office hours until you find a TA you like.

This class is pretty interesting if you're an engineer or if you like computers. The concepts can be challenging though, and you have to stay up with your reading/lab assignments. Otherwise, Sherriff is a great teacher is explains the new concepts very well.
