Sundberg a nice guy, and he'd probably be a lot more popular if he taught something other than organic chem- it's a pretty labor intensive class which I don't recommend if A) it's not required for your major/pre-med or B) you're taking and otherwise hard semester. This class pretty much sucks up your life
The average amount of group work per week is kind of misleading because there's not HW every week. The HW will help raise your grade, but it's reasonably challenging and can take a long time to complete. Professor's not a bad guy, but I think he emphasizes mechanisms at the expense of applying organic chemistry.
Don't take this class for fun because it's not. To succeed in this class you must do the reading and pay attention to his lectures. Sundberg is an adorable old man who knows an unbelievable amount of chemistry. He's very easy to approach and will help you if you have trouble. Tests are very challenging, but looking over past exams will help a great deal. Questions are fair, but tough. Get a good group to work on the problem sets with because these problems really reinforce the material he will ask on exams. Overall this class is okay.
