BME 4641

Intimidating lectures, but fair tests. Weekly homework problem sets and a semester programming project simulating the Hodgkin and Huxley model for action potential generation.

Very interesting class. Dr. Kim is extremely fair in grading and workload. Lost-in-translation anecdotes are priceless. Dr. Kim is goofy enough to make you laugh now and then. Overall, one of the best classes in the BME department.

Worth it

I put in 0 work for this class, and got a B+. If that's not incredible, I don't know what is.

This class is definitely worth taking. I learned a lot but never felt overwhelmed. The homework sets and projects were fair, and the tests were roughly the same difficulty as the homework. The best part of the class was how helpful and flexible Dr. Kim is. I strongly recommend this class for anybody that needs another biomed elective.

Best BME professor ever. You would be foolish to pass this class up as one of your electives.

This is one of the best electives that you could take. The content itself is not necessarily easy but he makes it easy enough for you.

Paying attention in lectures is the key to this class. There is no book, so all of the homework and exam material is straight from lectures. Kim is very enthusiastic, which makes it fun sometimes. There is a good deal of review from other BME courses too, which makes some parts quite a bit easier.

Awesome class- you learn a lot. The homeworks are challenging but my Kim's magical grading scale you're almost guaranteed an A.

Yong Kim is extremely funny, and laid back, the lectures are a little intimidating, but when you sit down and do the homework, the subject matter comes together nicely. Tests are easy, take this class, its well worth it
