Great intro class and very laid back! Especially cool since this was an around 30 person class instead of the usual large lecture for ANTH 1010 in the past. Professor Rosado-Ramirez is so kind and always willing to provide help and guidance. The class mostly goes over what the field of anthropology is all about, and workload consists of watching/reading an article/paper/video before every class class that you have to write a discussion question about (which have kind of awkward deadlines of like 2pm the day before, so try not to miss those). There are also three short papers throughout the semester that just require you to have listened/taken notes in class to do well on, and even if you are struggling, Professor Rosado Ramirez’s office hours are great if you need support. A portion of your grade is also participation, but as long as you say something once a week, you’re good. Our discussions could be a bit dry, but I think that’s mostly because our class was an 8am. Overall, the class gives you grace and little excuse to not succeed, especially since he uses the token system. Definitely recommend! #tCFF24
