There were four essays of about four pages (two were submitted together as a "final").
The class was extremely easy. Very few readings, incredibly easy themes and concepts. However, Anderson really struggled teaching this class. He had to resort to high school antics like sounding out syllables and forcing students to answer questions. It appeared that no one ever did the readings. He was very patronizing and disagreeable. I just sort of sat through the class in silence.
Easy class in theory, but Anderson is an Oxford guy with a very high standard for writing. I consider myself a pretty good Spanish writer based on good grades in 3300 and 3010, but Anderson could always find a reason to give me a bad grade on papers. He has a policy against reading rough drafts, so it was just super impossible to gauge what he was looking for. I would say take the class with another professor if you can.
