SPAN 3040

Professor Rodriguez has some major organization issues. She announced to the class groups should submit their presentation drafts 4 days before their presentation or lose a letter grade, but she only announced it 2 days before the first group's (mine) presentation. She does not respond to emails, you will only hear her response at the next class. She grades very slowly, such that you wouldn't get vocab quizzes back before the tests, and tests would come back 2-3 weeks later. Guidelines for assignments are vague at best and are often not announced to the class until maybe the day before they're due.
While her Spanish is perfect and natural, you do get the sense that she doesn't have a useful background in business. However, she does do a solid job of navigating the discussions to focus on what the vocabulary means.
Finally, the textbook is the entire foundation of the class. 3040 is what it is, so this isn't Professor Rodriguez's fault. You memorize it's vocabulary, basic details about other countries, and that's about it. There is some in-class discussion which helps for understanding why the vocab is useful, but save yourself the class and just buy the textbook to go through on your own.

Profesora Rodriguez is awesome. She's really nice and a great teacher. Class is easy and interesting. Highly recommend to anyone who has satisfied the pre-reqs.
