This course was a lot of work, but also incredibly rewarding! Professor Majewski is a fantastic professor and the kind of person who goes above and beyond to make sure his students feel welcomed and are supported. This course consisted of five lab reports, weekly lectures and lab periods for both data analysis and collection. The first two lab reports were written individually, and the last three were written in groups where we had a say in the members we had in our own group.
Overall, the course was very effective in teaching the techniques that are needed to understand how everything from the human eye, to CDCs, to spectroscopy/photometry, to different types of telescopes works. Many students view this as a capstone to their astronomical studies, and I certainly felt that way about it myself. It was an excellently structured course that, if you work hard at, you can succeed in.
