I came into UVA with a good amount of knowledge about Spanish. This class was easy in terms of class time and learning but the homework is all done online and is very tedious. In addition to the regular homework on Supersite, you also have an E-Portfolio online to maintain. The assignments were supposed to each about culture, which is important, but each week I found myself rushing to get it done. Altogether, the class isn't very interesting, but Erick is a very good professor and tries to make the class as fun as possible. He makes himself available to his students and is very approachable. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the class, but if you have to take it, Erick is a good choice.
Professor Romig is an amazing teacher! He is bound by the language departments rules, which can make the class a little bit dry, especially the supersite and eportfolio. But, he is extremely understanding, great at teaching concepts, and makes the class as fun as it can be. As a spanish class goes, it was not too fast or overwhelming. However, I think this was mostly because Professor Romig made it so manageable.
