Señora Rini is great. For 1010-2020, each course is taught by a bunch of grad students and one professor, who obviously has the most experience. Señora Rini is this professor for 2010 and it really showed. She was engaging and fair, and would explain things in English if we really couldn't understand, which was rare. It is frustrating that you have to get a 96 for an A because I felt like I really succeeded in this class and still only got an A-. The homework was annoying but the tests were pretty easy without too much studying.
Rini is a fantastic professor. She creates a light and friendly atmosphere in the classroom which makes it very easy and low pressure to talk in Spanish. The material is a very helpful review of what was learned in 1010/1020/1060, so it's not a problem if you've taken this sequence before. There was online homework 3 times a week and each assignment took 1.5-2 hours each for me. You can see how you compare to the average of the class in grade and time taken, and I ended up above the average in time spent on the homework, so it'll probably be less work for you. Like others have said Exams are pretty easy and don't require too much studying. I would just memorize the vocab from each section before the exam (hint: search for SPAN 2010 on Quizlet... other people will make the vocab sets for you). Rini also grades very easily. I would make some really dumb errors on my compositions on the exams and still receive full credit for that section. If you have the chance, take this class with Rini. She's just a really nice and funny person.
Señora Rini is a great professor. She is very enthusiastic, kind, and really cares about her students. She always greets the class with a smile, and you can tell she is truly happy to be teaching. The tests are very easy to excel on as long as you pay attention in class and look over the vocab and grammar rules in the chapter before the test. The rest of your grade is just homework. I would say take the cultural entrada eportfolio assignments seriously, that is the only thing that could hurt your grade. I would definitely recommend taking this class with Rini. She is patient and willing to work with you if you are having trouble or are confused. She loves feedback and truly just wants what is best for her students!
Prof. Rini is one of the most caring professors I have ever met. She is extremely understanding; I once came into an exam period halfway and she let me wait until her next block to take it without penalty because she could clearly see how stressed I was with other exams I had in the week. She really makes an effort to make this class enjoyable. Personally, the structure of the class can be a chore, but that's really on the department as a whole. I have a bilingual background, so learning Spanish is extremely easy for me. Obviously, I am not representative of the average student taking Spanish, but if you put in 2-3 hours a week, you are guaranteed to do well in the class. I rarely spent more than an hour a week doing the homework assignments on Supersite which aren't even that hard. The big cultural projects aren't inherently difficult either. She is very approachable and will try to work with you if you have difficulties or conflicts. Hands down the best 2010 professor you could ever get. I even like her better than Matthew Street who I had for 1060. TAKE HER IF POSSIBLE!!
