Professor Colon is very nice and lenient when it comes to due dates. All the assignments are due at 8am the day of class, but if you are a few hours late or submit after class he doesn't tend to take off points. The class is very discussion based, which is a great way to practice your Spanish. Because of this, I feel like we were all able to get to know each other well. There is a lot of assignments and busy work, however it is very easy to get an A if you put in the time. There are three in class writing assignments. Professor Colon allows you to bring in a list of 15 phrases to help you out during the essay, but everything else is closed notes. He provided very detailed feedback, which we all appreciated. There are only two midterms in the middle and at the end of the semester. There is no final! The midterms have a paper exam and an oral exam, both are graded very fairly. You cover a lot of information throughout the semester including preterite and imperfect. This class has improved my Spanish more than all my previous years of classes combined.
