SOC 3595

Great class! Prof Coarse breaks down the readings every class to the point that you actually remember them after the semester ends (what a concept). So if you pay attention and skim the readings, you will do well. About 1-2 readings per class, not usually more than 15 or 20 pages that is not very dense. She is a fair/easy grader. Discuss readings in groups and have two easy group projects, so depending on who you get can effect your experience. One of my favorite classes at UVa!

Really did not enjoy this class. Every class you discuss readings with the same group of people, have multiple group projects, and the exams are about 15 free response questions comparing all the readings. Reading and understanding each person's argument is essential to doing well, and Professor Corse is very boring and monotone.

I thought this class would be very interesting because I love to travel but it was incredibly boring. The readings were dense and pointless. The class was very routine she just talked about the readings every class which was boring. Sarah Corse is very monotone and not at all helpful. Do not take this class.
