ASTR 1220

Don't take the class with Thuan. He's difficult to understand and his lectures aren't organized at all. he tends to jump from topic to topic randomly without any sense of a common theme. Just take it with someone else, trust me.

I took this class to fulfill a requirement and immensely regret that decision. The class was insufferably boring, and Thuan's thick accent was hard to understand. The two quizzes were surprisingly difficult, even for someone who attended every lecture and did the textbook readings. The required labs are way more trouble than they're worth.

He was confusing, hard to hear, and very Physics oriented, which was frustrating to me. The lectures would often become unconnected and disjointed and seemed to last much longer than the 75 minutes. He is very passionate, however, the labs were easy. The quizzes were alright if you went to the review and knew how to do the math and calculations. The final was brutal and TA utterly unhelpful, and while it was very interesting content, I doubt that I would take the class again.
