The professor is extremely knowledgeable on the topic of sociology, and I enjoyed class because of how passionate and how well he interconnected each topic. Each week, you discuss a new topic and go over it in detail. He also relates it to current events and asks questions in class. Definitely participate and answer questions Reading is assigned, but you do not need to stress over/read it in depth it as Professor Unlu goes over it in class and emphasizes what you need to know.
However, the one drawback is the tests. You only have 2 midterms in this class, each being 20 questions each. That means only 40 questions determine your grade. Although the tests are not hard at all if you study, if you get only a few wrong it can seriously impact your grade. Be aware of this, but if you go to class, you will be fine. Before each test, he has a class of exam review that definitely helps when you take the test. Even though I did not get the grade I hoped for because of the grading system, I enjoyed the class and the instructor. One final tip if taking this class: Go to class!!!
