Great intro to various ethical questions in health care. Prof Childress is one of the foremost figures in this field, so he knows all about current issues- wrote the textbook himself. Lectures can be quite dry- he basically follows a pre-printed outline, so people often skipped. Tends to be a fair amount of reading, so it's pretty easy to fall behind- just don't leave it all until exam time- cramming is NOT fun
Childress is clearly at the top of the field of bioethics. He literally wrote the textbook. Lectures are sometimes interesting, particularly if you are genuinely interested in that particular topic, but they are often less than gripping. Fridays are almost always optional movie days, and you can study for the midterm pretty much exclusively from the book and the booklet of readings. Try to get Scott Bailey as a TA -- he has a really insightful perspective and leads a good discussion.
