I enrolled in this course to knock off a class for the religious studies minor and because it had a high average GPA, but I ended up dropping. As the reviewer below me said, it was an absurd amount of complex academic/philosophical reading which was discussed heavily in class. If you are looking for an easy class, I would look elsewhere.
Please trust me when I say this because I feel like I am doing a good deed by writing this review. Do not take this course if you are looking for a class you can fly by with minimal effort. The professor is extremely nice but there is SO MUCH READING. I am okay with reading but you are doing readings like Aristotle, Aquinas, and some very confusing thinkers. I took this class because I thought it was going to be relatively easy but I spend more time on this class than the rest of the classes combined. Unless you have the time and are an extremely proficient reader, do not take this course!
Super interesting course that is exciting and engaging. I enjoyed class everyday and the assignments were pretty fair. She's a very easy grader, I would receive comments on papers that would be concerning but still end up with an A on the assignment. Highly recommend, Turner is an easy grader and the class is a blast!
Professor Turner is very nice and wants her students to succeed. She is a little awkward but the readings are reasonable and she grades the essays fairly. This was her first semester teaching and it seemed she was testing the waters to see how she wanted formulate her tests. Overall, not a very difficult class if you do most of the readings and study before the exams. Participation is also key!
