Bill Wilson is one of the greatest proffesors that you could ever get to know. Take one of his classes if for no other reason than to meet him and go to his office hours. In this course, you will read amazing works (Flannery O'Connor's stories, Dante's Paradiso, Faulner's Sound and the Fury, etc.) and get the context necessary to read them as they were meant to be read.
Mr. Wilson is absolutely brilliant. I read some true classics in this class from Augustine to Faulkner and had the pleasure of hearing Mr. Wilson lecture on them. Often, I got lost during lecture, but I didn't really mind. Three 8-10 pg papers and a fair amount of reading, but so worth it. The papers are also graded pretty easily. This class is a must take simply because Mr. Wilson teaches it.
Professor Wilson loves his students, but his lectures are often scattered and I would find myself lost. I would recommend this class to people who really enjoy English and analyzing literature because this class felt far more like an English class than a religious studies class to me. I think it would more appropriately fit in the English department. Projessor Wilson is very kind if you go to his office hours, and the day-to-day workload is not demanding at all. You simply have three 8-10 page papers throughout the semester and choose your topic--it can be anything1
