Cooper is a great and passionate lecturer. Take this class if you want to learn about the history of Christianity. You learn a lot from this intro class. You do have to put in the time and effort. There are no essays, 3 online exams, church visit presentation, and frequent quizzes (depends on TA) that go into your participation grade. I guess the class was fairly easy considering there was no final or midterm, but still a lot to study...and knowing random facts she mentions once in class.
Cooper takes daily attendance in lectures and in discussions. The lecture is sometimes off topic, but the exams are easy to prepare for because she gives you a study guide and essentially goes straight from it. All topics covered in discussions are on the exams. Easy class if you memorize what she focuses on.
This class was a very good introductory course. Dr. Cooper is a good teacher and makes class interesting. She and the TA prepare you extremely well for the tests, which really aren't that hard - though they can be specific. There wasn't much work outside of class and I would definitely recommend it.
Awful. Just awful. Makes so many failed attempts at jokes......then plays it off like she didn't just try to make a joke.....and then since nobody's laughing she returns to the joke to try to take it further as if we didn't get it. We got it Valerie. We got it. It wast terrible. Just like your class. Avoid.
