Easiest class I took my first semester. Studied for the midterm the night before and got a 95. Professor Turpeinen is a good lecturer, but I occasionally fell asleep in the back row, mostly because it was unnecessary to even be in lecture. After we studied meditation, we started off each class period with 10 minutes of meditation, which I really enjoyed. My TA was Nyima Cape, and I really enjoyed her. Don't bother doing the readings. Grade consists of one midterm, one paper, and a pop quiz on a reading in discussion.
I probably put in work for this class three times over the semester. Once for a midterm which she gave us a review sheet for. I got a 100. The next two times were for 5 page papers (one of which counted as a final). These were graded by the TAs, so I'm not sure how harshly the other TA graded, but I ended up with an A. Lectures were boring, and I'm not sure why I still went after the midterm. She puts all the slides on collab. I usually would quickly skim over the readings for the discussion, because it was pretty obvious that no one did them. She says there will be two quizes on the readings which she saves until the last two discussion sections. Overall I found this class easy, but I could not pay attention during lecture.
