Your success in this course will depend on how much you like the subject matter. I'm interested in political theory, so I found Klosko's lectures to be really excellent and easy to be engaged with. To be prepared for the exams, you have to take copious notes in lecture and discussion so that you really understand the arguments of these theorists and can explain them in a closed note essay. It is not an easy class, but it is really valuable if you want to understand some of the most important thinkers in political theory (Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, Marx) for other politics classes.

I took this class with Klosko, and it was amazing. He is really knowledgable about political theory, and even though he often goes on tangents and doesn't use powerpoints, if you pay attention you'll do well in the class. Plus, the material is actually really interesting.
