I found this class to be really interesting for the first part of the semester and less interesting for the second. At first, the readings were varied and our class was more like a discussion. After the first midterm (there are three), the readings switched over to court cases and after the first five or so they all seemed the same. Still, if you do the readings and speak up in class you will probably do well in this class. Note: Professor Slaughter only gives letter grades, not pluses or minuses. Also, she used to be mayor of Charlottesville, and then worked at SELC, so she really knows her stuff.
I found her lectures to be very interesting. Yes, land use law is not the most exciting but if you are interested, you'll like it. Don't come to class tired, you might fall asleep but if you come with an open mind, you will learn something interesting every time. I recommend participating as much as possible.
