Morgan can be stoic at times, but is a great professor. I highly recommend taking the class with him if you can.
Now onto the class itself... only take it if you are passionate about photography, like really passionate. This class will make you grow a ton as a photographer. You learn how to shoot with old 35mm film cameras and how to develop your own photos with a bunch of chemicals in a dark room. BEWARE: the camera, film, paper, and all other supplies total to a huge cost (I spent like $400+ dollars on this class alone), on the plus side you get to keep the camera (since you bought it lol) and can continue shooting once you're done with the class. Yes, the class is a TON of work outside of class hours (you have to come to the art building to go to the dark room and develop photos, as well as shot 2 rolls of film a week (72 photos), I was taking this alongside CS 2150 and had to frequently pull all nighters or get only 3-4 hours of sleep.
Now I'm not trying to scare you away, but I wish someone else had said all the things I've said above. At the end of the day, I loved the class because I learned what "good photos" actually are, and I feel like my skills as a photographer are infinitely better than what they were before. Printed 35mm photos look really cool too (and make for great gifts).
If you're a photographer and want to improve a ton? Yes, take this class. Otherwise, stick to your dumb, basic insta photos lmao.
