Rick Marshall is a gem. I learned a lot about statistical analysis in this class. These are the only two positive things I can say. The requirements to make an A in this class are ridiculous. An easy 20 hours of work per report of mostly mind numbing simplicity. The material is easy, but the workload is not. I strongly recommend taking PHYS 1429 and 2419 instead of this sequence.
AVOID THIS CLASS AT ALL COSTS! You are expected to write academic journal ready, 8 page long papers EVERY SINGLE WEEK. They consistently took me 10 hours to write, and they do not prepare you at all for writing a real academic paper. You do a different set of experiments every week with complicated instruments that you never really learn how to use and you are expected to master extremely difficult and complex theory every week. The professor designs the experiments and tells you what your answer is supposed to be, so you don't actually learn anything. You instead just do the exact same data analysis endlessly. Take the 1 credit engineering lab. Don't take this course.
