This is an easy class. The work isn't so much difficult as it is tedious. Don't worry about getting 70s or 80s on homework and tests, everything in the class is subject to a very generous curve that makes high C's and low B's into A's. Professor Pfister's lectures are somewhat pointless as you learn more from the book than you do the lectures but you still have to attend due to his use of learning catalytics to see who is actually attending lectures. He's still a super nice guy though.
Olivier was such a great professor, he did experiments like every class and every time he did one he would look back at the class and smile with this huge grin in his face and he made the class so enjoyable. Science and physics are pretty dull subjects to me, and I only took this class because I had to take a physics elective for my major, but he made it fun. There was homework assignments every week that were open-note to the textbook so you could do pretty well on them as long as you didn't turn them in late. There was 3 tests and each one was curved A LOT, because according to him, in the real world you would have more time and access to worldly knowledge to work on scientific problems. Basically if you go to class (I never took notes) and do the HW assignments, you'll do well (I got an A).
